The “Download Records” button creates a comma separated value file (csv) containing the contribution information and sends it to your PC. You may use your spreadsheet or database application of choice to view the file. (If you need the comma separated value file to be a text file, simply change the .csv extension to .txt.).

If your download does not give you the option to save the file, but opens it in Excel, you can save the file by clicking on the Tools button on the toolbar. This button will add a toolbar that has the Save button option.

When downloading to an Excel Spreadsheet, the two Zip Code fields will drop any leading zeros. To correct this, highlight the field by clicking at the top of the column, right click on the highlighted field and choose Format Cells. Then choose Special and Zip Code and click OK. This will add the correct format to the zip code field.
